Introduction to P-DTR
A short structured introduction to receptor-based clinical reasoning. Online and in-person formats. Dates announced by email.
What this is
A focused introduction to P-DTR (Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex) - the receptor-based clinical reasoning method developed by Dr. José Palomar. Designed for clinicians who have read the assessment checklist and want to understand the full frame.
Format: short course, online or in-person. Designed to be the on-ramp before the Foundation course.
What you will learn
-
01
Receptor-based reasoning frame
Why some patients plateau on standard pathways and what changes when you assess inputs (skin sensors, joint position, muscle stretch, balance, vision) instead of treating outputs.
-
02
Manual muscle testing - long-lever variant
The patented long-lever manual muscle test (the lever placed far from the joint). When to use it, what it tells you, what changes when you switch from short-lever.
-
03
Composite case work
Walking through composite clinical scenarios - the kind of plateau case you have seen in your own practice. Each case shows the receptor-based decision tree.
-
04
Bridge to the Foundation course
By the end you know whether the full Foundation course (five modules over eight months) is the right next step for your practice.
Who this is for
Manual therapists, chiropractors, physical therapists, clinicians in movement and rehabilitation, sports medicine clinicians, osteopaths, massage therapists, and applied kinesiologists. You already assess and treat patients clinically. You want a working frame for the cases that plateau.
